CNCO is a Latin American boy band based in Miami, Florida.[1] The group consists of Richard Camacho, Erick Brian Colón, Christopher Vélez and Zabdiel De Jesús; sometime member Joel Pimentel departed the band in May 2021. They won a five-year recording contract with Sony Music Latin later becoming the winning competitors of the first season of La Banda. The band toured with Ricky Martin. Their debut and second singles "Tan Fácil" and "Quisiera", charted well soon later their debut.[two] [3] They released their first album, Primera Cita on August 26, 2016, which included the hitting "Reggaetón Lento (Bailemos)".[4] [5] [half dozen] [7]

The grouping released their self-titled second studio anthology, on April half dozen, 2018, which included the singles "Mamita" and "Se Vuelve Loca".[8] Their debut EP Que Quiénes Somos, containing the singles "De Cero" and "Pegao" featuring Manuel Turizo, was released on Oct eleven, 2019. Both albums debuted at number one on the Billboard Meridian Latin Albums and the meridian 40 on the Billboard 200, while the EP debuted within the superlative 15 of the one-time nautical chart.

In 2020, they began the era of their anthology Déjà Vu, a cover album of Latin popular classics, with 3 singles released from November to Dec. On February 5, 2021, the ring released the LP. The album was released preceded by the fourth single and accompanied past the fifth on its release day.

2015: La Banda [edit]

Erick Brian Colón, Christopher Vélez, Zabdiel De Jesús, Richard Camacho and Joel Pimentel auditioned for the first flavour of La Banda, a televised singing competition which started on Univision in September 2015, created by Simon Cowell and produced by Ricky Martin.[9] They all received an 75% of votes from the public during auditions except Colón, though he was saved past Martin. The ring's members competed individually with other contestants from Latin America and the United states earlier the show's judges, Martin, Alejandro Sanz and Laura Pausini. The boys had to become through several phases to become the winners. During the competition, they were put into groups, with Camacho and De Jesús in the same ring, while Vélez, Colón and Pimentel were in another. The band was formed on the finale of the bear witness, on December xiii, 2015, when they received their name, which alludes to the Castilian word for five, "cinco", and is pronounced in English every bit it is spelled: "C-N-C-O".[ten] They won a recording contract of 5 years with Sony Music Latin,[3] and rapper Wisin was scheduled to produce their outset album.[1] Martin became their representative.[4] [eleven]

On February 12, CNCO started touring as opening acts on Ricky Martin's One Earth Tour for some of his shows in the U.S., including Hollywood, Florida[22] San Juan, Puerto Rico, and parts of South America, including Republic of chile and Argentina.[23]

On May 13, they released their second unmarried "Quisiera",[24] which peaked on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs at number 29,[3] with its music video premiering on June 3.[25] In May, they sang the national anthem at Yankee Stadium.[xviii] [26] On July 13, the band was nominated for six awards,[xviii] at Premios Juventud and won v for the Almost – "Tan Fácil", My Pop/Rock Artist Producers' Choice Award, My Favorite Twitter Celebrity, and My Favorite Fan-Army; they also performed at the anniversary.[27] [28]

In August, their fans, chosen "CNCOwners", voted the band get-go place in Billboard's "Favorite New Latin Boy Band Poll'.[iii] On August 23, the group asked fans to locate hotspots for songs from their upcoming anthology, in a Pokémon Go inspired game, called 'CNCOGo', and Ecuadorian fans found the first song, "Cometa".[29]

On August 26, their showtime album, Primera Cita, (First Appointment, in English), produced by Wisin, was released.[four] [5] [thirty] Wisin spoke nigh their album saying, "It is a union of countries and cultures. In November, they filmed a new music video for one of the songs on Primera Cita, "Para Enamorarte", at the Los Angeles Ramon C. Cortines School of Visual and Performing Arts. 2017–2018: Más Allá Tour and CNCO [edit]

On August eighteen, CNCO released a remixed version of "Reggaetón Lento" featuring vocals from British girl group Little Mix equally the second single from the record.[42] On Oct 20, 2017, the group released the third single, "Mamita" from their second album.[43] On March 3, 2018, they released the song, "Mi Medicina", announcing the album's pre-order.[44] [45] It was followed by "Bonita" two weeks later, on March 16,[46] and finally "Fiesta en Mi Casa", likewise arriving two weeks later, on March 30.[47] The music videos accompanied the songs' releases.

On April six, 2018, the male child band released their highly anticipated second self-titled album, CNCO.[eight] Information technology debuted at number one on the Billboard Acme Latin Albums and entered at number 33 on the Billboard 200, succeeding their debut. CNCO released the single "De Cero" on June 24 along with its music video.[55] They performed a brusque version of "Pretend" at the Teen Choice Awards of 2019, where they won the Pick Latin Artist and were nominated for Choice Group. On Feb 5, the group released their new album, Déjà Vu, to digital download and streaming, along with the tracks' audios on their YouTube aqueduct.[74] The release was accompanied by the fifth single, "Dejaría Todo", a encompass of Puerto Rican singer, Chayanne.

On May 9, 2021, Joel Pimentel announced his get out from the grouping, citing desires to "grow and explore new artistic venues". Christopher Vélez [edit]

Christopher Bryant Vélez Muñoz was born on November 23, 1995, in New Bailiwick of jersey. He moved with his family unit to their dwelling house country, Ecuador when he was two years quondam. When he turned 18, Vélez returned to the U.Southward. in hopes of helping his family economically; he had several jobs, including shining shoes for a living. He originally wanted to go to school to study music simply saw La Banda as a better opportunity. Vélez is the oldest member in CNCO.[79]

Richard Camacho [edit]

Richard Yashel Camacho Puello was born on January 22, 1997, in New York City only grew upwards in the Dominican Commonwealth. His father is a musician and cameraman and his mother is a dancer, which is besides a hobby of his. Camacho has been singing and dancing ever since he was iii years onetime, and the first song he has ever listened to was "With You" by Chris Brown. He has 3 other siblings; Yashua Camacho, who besides took the lifestyle of singing and is a solo creative person, Dairan Camacho, and Yarliza Camacho. He had a daughter with Instagram model Yocelyn Alexander, named Aaliyah Camacho, after late R&B vocalist Aaliyah.[79]

Zabdiel De Jesús [edit]

Zabdiel De Jesús was born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico on Dec 13, 1997. He adult an interest in singing at age twelve, singing with his church building hip-hop and salsa group, besides as dancing ballet at Ballet Concierto, a prestigious academy in Puerto Rico. As a young child, his begetter, a musician, showed him a dear for the music that is now what keeps their family together. From a young age, De Jesús had the ability to play instruments. Erick Brian Colón Arista was born on Jan three, 2001, in Havana, Cuba. He moved to Tampa, Florida with his family unit at the age of 11 in 2012. Colón is the youngest fellow member of the boyband and was in La Banda when he was only 14 years old.
